A PART OF ME WANTS TO ROCK IT OUT LIKE KAT VON D!

Honestly, I think Kat Von D is just a very cool chick. She comes across as a free spirit who doesn't care what other people think. I was raised in a very conservative home and only the weirdos looked like that. I did not like being stifled like that and so I rebelled in all kinds of ways. I'm a mother now and so I won't just go crazy and start wearing a bunch of crosses around my neck and wrist bands around my arms and get tats all over my arms, however, a part of me does want to let loose and rock it out! One thing I can pull off is wearing those cool cut up t-shirts like Kat wears on LA INK. Maybe not to the studios or to The Main Event with my kids, but for sure to a concert like Nickelback or to the ROT Rally! Anywhere I want to rock it out!

Kat cuts her own t-shirts up and she made a video to show us all how to do it ourselves. How sweet is that? Click here to check it out! I've got a ton of t-shirts that are about to be re-born! ha ha ha!

New Tattoo? For Who? ME....um...yes....ME

Hey guys! So I have no marks on my body and I am 38 almost 39. I've been thinking about this for years. I have finally decided that on my 40th Birthday, I AM going for it. I love peacocks and I love hearts and here are a few designs I was thinking about. Notice the mispelling! Ha ha ha! unless of course it happens to you....then it's WTF????? Any thoughts for a sister from another mister? There is no weird thing about putting peacocks on your body is there? I'm making a list of pros and cons about the whole thing: where it should go, how big it should be and who I should let do it. I want Kat Von D to do it from LA INK but I'll wish in one hand and you know the rest. Happy Holidays!

Bring Him Home Santa (kleenex alert)

A little girl named Heather Martin sang a song about her daddy and her Christmas wish. Her daddy is serving the U.S. in the armed forces overseas. It is a tear jerking song, but it really puts Christmas into perspective.

Got a show idea? It could win YOU a prize just like David

Mix listener David Grandstaff called us with an interesting idea. He says he knows the cure for Cedar Fever! It’s a little bit of a time intensive process, but he swears it works.

Check it out, here’s what you do: When the cedar trees start growing berries in January and February, pick the berries…. Pick as many as you can for the months they are visible on the trees and freeze them. When September rolls around, swallow 2-3 of the berries everyday for a few months. Don’t chew them, just swallow them like pills. (He says they’re not toxic, so no worries!)

Apparently if you follow these directions, you’ll have absolutely NO symptoms of cedar fever when the season rolls around the following spring!

Very cool---thanks David for the inside scoop.

I COULD DO THIS ALL NIGHT! HA HA!

Can the Underwear You Wear On New Years Eve Give You Luck? (marketwatch.com) - For centuries people have been observing the end of one year and the beginning of another and underneath the celebration and partying there is an ancient holiday with deep spiritual roots.

This year, with a cooling economy and escalating layoffs, many people are worried about the fallout from the credit crunch. Concern about the future is running high.

Many people around the world believe that everything we do on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day has significance for the future. The American custom of spending the night with a loved one and kissing them at midnight ensures that the relationship will flourish during the coming year.

In some South American countries, the color of the bra and panty worn at midnight on New Year's Eve is believed to influence your luck in the coming year. Gold or yellow is worn for prosperity -- work, money and success.

Other choices are white for peace and happiness, blue for health, pink for love and red for passion. Yellow is the most popular color in Brazil, Venezuela and Peru. Lima, Peru comes alive with the color for New Year's Eve. Everyone and everything is absolutely saturated in it. Wearing yellow underwear is a particularly strong tradition.

Although traditionally Mexico favors red and pink is tops in Argentina, it's predicted that this year gold or yellow will be the clear favorite in many countries. The colors chosen must be light and the underwear always brand new.

This Honeydew Camellia lace bra and panty set should be a winner for the ladies. Wear the yellow panties inside out to improve your luck. The Cin2 no show boxers are a perfect choice for the guys.

The tradition can be traced back to Spain in the middle ages when it was forbidden to wear bright colors, but since the people believed in the tradition they wore the colors underneath their clothes.

DOT THERAPY ROCKS! :)

Hey Everybody!

So, yesterday I went to Beleza Med Spa for Dot Therapy. My appointment was at 11:30a. They put numbing cream on my face for 30 minutes and then they did the procedure using a special smartxide laser. Now, at first, I was really scared. This is like laser resurfacing. It goes really deep into the epidermis and then eventually the top layer of your skin comes off revealing new, baby skin. He started the procedure and I honestly thought to myself, "This is it?" Seriously, if you have ever had a photo facial treatment, it's absolutely no worse than that. I couldn't believe it. It was over in like 15 minutes and then they put cold towels on my face and gave me a post-op kit and I went home. Before I went in, I had called to see if someone was going to need to drive me there and pick me up. Ha! ha! There is no pain killers or anything like that. I was able to drive myself home just fine. All I felt yesterday for just a few hours was a little heat. I am very red today and turning brown. My face looks kind of crazy but I CANNOT WAIT to see the end results. This was great! You know laser resurfacing in the past mean that you would be out for like a week. This is great! I needed to mow my yard today and you must stay out of the sun, so I slathered on sunscreen, and put on a cowboy hat for protection. I started mowing and their was dust and dirt flying up on my face so I ended up wearing a bandanna over my face and a cowboy hat. (ha ha) I looked like a bandit! I will be posting pictures soon of the before and during and then, of course, after photos. This is so exciting. Dr. Broder at Beleza Med Spa was so great and his nurse, Heather, is fabulous too. If you want to find out details about Dot Therapy, then go to http://www.belezamedicalspa.com/. It's the very latest in laser technology and Dr. Broder is offering a special on Dot Therapy right now! Oh, I can't wait to have a younger, fresher looking face and be rid of all the years of sun damage. Gotta go to bed but wanted to say that it's been a great experience so far! Talk to you on the air.

Christmas Cheer!

GREAT CHRISTMAS GIFTS THAT COST NEXT TO NOTHING!

1. UNBAKED, MADE-FROM-SCRATCH COOKIE KITS: Get the dry ingredients of your favorite cookie recipes together, along with a mason jar, a note card and some “country” style ribbons. Layer the dry ingredients in the mason jar, screw on the lid, print the recipe on a note card in an old-fashiony looking font, and tie it to the jar with ribbon.

2. A SECRECT HOLLOW BOOK: Find an old classic book at your nearby Goodwill or used bookstore. Using an X-Acto knife, hollow out the center of the book. It can be used as a place to store treasures.

3. CREATE A RECIPE BOOKLET: Use a collection of your favorite holiday recipes, and then include a small assortment of samples. Pass your culinary traditions on to your friends.

4. GIVE THE GIFT OF TIME OR SKILL: What skill do you have? Can you help somebody set up a blog? Teach someone how to change the oil in their car. Can you give bike tune-ups? Mini lessons on sushi or wine? Give the gift of baby-sitting for new parents. If you’re a computer whiz, give the gift of free computer repairs. Make up a gift certificate.

5. FELT-BACKED TILE TRIVETS: You can find lots of beautiful tile at home-improvement stores. And a lot of times, if the tile is at the end of a lot, you can get the tile at a deep discount. Using a hot glue gun, add a layer of felt to the back of a 6 x 6 (or larger) tile, and you have a useful trivet for bringing a hot dish to the table. If you drink a lot of wine, you might consider creating cork trivets.

6. LOVE COUPONS: Coupons good for a dinner out, or for a back rub, or for an evening of watching a favorite movie. FOR THE KIDS: You can make coupons for your parents for mowing the yard, washing the dog, picking up poo in the backyard, things that go above and beyond your normal chores.

7. Mixed CD: Compile a mixed cd and mail them out to all your friends. It can serve as a holiday card, a moment of reconnection or your friends can get introduced to new music they might not have heard yet themselves.

8. MEMORY JAR: (Fantastic idea for a grandparent or older relative). This gift is time consuming but costs next to nothing. Contact friends and relatives and ask them to tell you some great memories of the person you are making the memory jar for and ask them to send you any old photos they have of that person. Then take 365 business card sized pieces of cardstock. Write one memory or put one printed picture on each of the cards. Fold each one in half and secure them with a bit of tape then place them all in a big jar. Decorate the jar. Every morning for the next year, that person can take out a piece of paper, open it, and see what other people cherish about them.
